Working to Keep America's Water Safe and Clean

Our Mission

Concerned Citizens for Clean Water works to protect and defend America's water supplies from pollution and depletion, to preserve adequate amounts of clean drinking water for the domestic use of the populace and for future generations.

We are concerned about water issues in America, particularly in the Western United States. We work to make the public more aware of water and its importance in our daily lives.

Taking a multi-faceted approach to this effort, we concentrate on three major areas:

1. Watersheds & Aquifers
2. Pollution Prevention
3. Domestic Water Issues (depletion of water supplies, water distribution, etc.).

Dear Concerned Citizens for Clean Water,

I support the environmental laws that have been enacted to protect the state of New Mexico and will see that they are enforced.

I am very concerned about our state's water supply. All New Mexicans are well aware that water is an important issue. I believe that solving our water problems should be a top priority of our local, state, and federal officials. I will work to see that this support is made available.

I am very proud of the efforts of the many citizens' groups throughout our state who are trying to protect our fragile and beautiful environment. New Mexico's pristine beauty was passed on to this generation to preserve and protect. It is not only our responsibility, but our obligation, to maintain this beautiful state for the enjoyment of future generations. We have been given a jewel on the high plains that is envied by the world. If elected, I will do everything I can to protect and preserve our shared heritage for our children, our grandchildren, and their grandchildren.

Our environmental problems are not unique to New Mexico. Having traveled the country, I have seen this problem from coast to coast. But we in New Mexico will be at the forefront as a state that protects its water and air, while still attracting quality industries that will grow our state's economy.

I would like to close by stating that I appreciate your efforts to protect the Ogallala Aquifer in eastern New Mexico while working to support our family farming heritage.

I truly care about the citizens of our state who have not had a voice in our government. IfI am elected Governor of New Mexico, these people will have a voice in me. They willbe listened to, and I will respond to their needs. Concerned Citizens for Clean Water is atrue champion of the environment and we will work together to protect our environment.

Sincerely,
(Signed) Bill Richardson
